Shhhhhh….
I will admit, I do not really care for horror films. I had NO idea what the film was about and did not watch the previews. Open mind for the surprises that awaited me and I couldn’t chicken out.
My back arched and refusing to make a sound to avoid the scary parts from happening. This film was effective in drawing the audience in and leaving them there in silence. By the way, movie snacks are noisy.
“A Quiet Place” is a cinematic masterpiece and will join “Rosemary’s Baby” as a classic horror film.
From the desk of Dr. Metzger
This is how a horror film is done. “A Quiet Place” was an innovative scare. The suspense, the acting, the silence and even the length of the film were all perfect. I had no idea John Krasinski was so talented. Krasinski, previously known as the loveable best friend/boyfriend of “Bride Wars” and “Its Complicated”, was also the director and producer of this winner. It made me realize that I have a bias. If your first big gig is comedy, I don’t expect you step out of the funny genre. Jamie Foxx, Jim Carrey, Donald Glover and now John Krasinki have proven that to be completely wrong. Their versatility ranging from directing to dramatic acting shows that comedy was just a launching pad for these actors . Anyways, back to the film. Emily Blunt and the kids got the terrified family role down. I was legit scared when I walked out and even found myself tiptoeing up the steps when I got home. “A Quiet Place” is the 2018 entry for the horror classics collection.
