Finally!
There’s that one lover in everyone’s history that was all wrong, but you made you feel like you could escape. At some point during your love affair you came face to face with the truth…they were all wrong for you. However, you are captivated by them anyway. “Beast” was that film. By opening the film with a monologue about killer whales and what happens to them when their freedom ends and they become trapped. The filmmakers take us into Moll’s (played by Jessie Buckley) enclosure, a beautiful island off the British coast, we feel empathy for her desire to be free even if the way to escape sends you a dark, twisted, revenge-seeking path. You will enjoy every moment of it
Don’t be surprised if we hear about Buckley and this film during awards season. This is a “must see”.
From the desk of Dr. Metzger:
The movie gods have heard our request! After a whole lot of mediocre these past weeks, the gripping thriller “Beast” has fallen onto our screens. This film mixes up a potent potion of romance, suspense and rage. This is that fall to your knees, revengeful and powerful type of love. The type of love that is so intense that it’s frightening. The performances, cinematography and even the score of this film were stellar. Is it too early to say Jessie Buckley may be an Oscar contender for best actress? Nope. “Beast” is a top-tier film across the board.
