Can You Ever Forgive Me?

A thriller for bibliophiles…

This film season we have seen numerous biopics that delve deeper into some well known names.  This film told the story of Lee Israel.  I love to read, and I have to admit that I was not that familiar with her work.  Perhaps, I recall her name from my grandmother’s personal library.   I was intrigued by the story, and was particularly fascinated that people would pay top dollar for letters written by famous people.  No judgement  I was not intrigued enough to recommend that you see it in the theatres.

From the desk of Dr. Dion Metzger:

I wish the writers could have embellished a more interesting film. “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” was like required summer reading….you’re just watching it to get it done. It’s not stream worthy even if your a literary junkie. We now know that Melissa McCarthy has some acting range but not it’s not in full swing just yet. You wouldn’t forgive me if I recommended this? So, it’s a no from me (full stop)
