The Favourite

Who needs “National Enquirer” when you can see biopics about the Royal Family.?

Call it rumors?  Call it a biopic?  I call it a serious contender to win an Oscar for Best Actress.  Colman’s performance as Queen Anne was strong and gave life to a film that was…okay.  I say watch it in the theater only to prepare for Oscar night.  Otherwise, No.

Damn Lady Gaga…Olivia Colman got this one but you’re definitely second. She is my vote for the Academy Award for Best Actress. The film started off interestingly scandalous and then zzzz’s. At 90 minutes in, I contemplated resuming a game of Word with Friends on my phone. “The Favourite” is a no from me unless you’re specifically interested in watching an actress master class.

P.S. They better not give Olivia’s award to Glenn Close.
