Glass

“This is not a cartoon. This is the real world.” – Elijah Price

In all three films, M. Night Shyamalan connects how the broken are attracted to one another in subtle ways that makes perfect sense.  In their brokenness, they have evolved to superheroes.  Huh…just like in real life.  We are drawn to the broken and evolve with superhuman abilities to give us protection.  This is why I ride for M. Night in every single film.  He gets me.  PS: The next morning I was meeting with a student and he said “Ms. Morton, I seem to be always connect with people that are broken in some way like me.  I don’t know why.”

Let’s give a standing ovation (with the slow clap) for James McAvoy. What a performance! This is the best actor performance I’ve seen all year. I didn’t see “Split” so this was my first time witnessing the excellence. I wasn’t ready.  Overall, I really liked “Glass” but I have to disclose I’m a M. Night Shyamalan cheerleader (I even saw “Lady in the Water” and “The Visit”). The dope female psychiatrist, Bruce Willis and the quick Drake mention (x2!) was enough to put this at ticket status. I’ll continue to ride with Shyamalan.
