Cold War

Love and Tragedy…The cinematography in this film is stunning. It captures the darkness and complexity of the Cold War and political turmoil in Poland after World War II.  There is a beauty in the feeling of love during unspeakably harsh times as shown in the character’s faces, but they were a hot mess.  Just when you thought they were going to get it together…something happened every time.  I do love a film that makes the audience guess what happened after the credits roll.  Did they or didn’t they?

From the desk of Dr. Dion Metzger

I’ll start with the positives. The aesthetic of “Cold War” was stunning.  The cinematography and the beauty of the main actors alone keeps your eyes locked on the screen. The narrative unfortunately fell short. You know I love a romance, especially one with a dramatic return of a true love years later. I just didn’t feel the love with these two. I kept wondering if she was going to kill him. That should happen in a romantic film. Maybe I’ve been watching too many American crime stories. Anyways, gorgeous film with a mediocre script.

Stream it. It’s less than 90 minutes.
