Spenser Confidential

New critique standard for streaming movies?

As I write this review, that is one of the questions I have in my mind.  Particularly, if the movie is straight to streaming. Is the modern equivalent of straight to video???  My answer is No.

The movie started out strong, particularly Alan Arkin’s role as Henry.  Then I was reminded about 30 minutes in that some books do not translate well to film.  This movie needs to stay in book format. After all, reading is fundamental.

From the desk of Dr. Metzger

This is a rainy day film. I got into it and unlike many, I’m still not tired of Mark Wahlberg playing a Boston cop. It was entertaining enough that I could watch it in bed and not fall asleep (always a good sign). The ending was kind of corny but it overall was an ok film. You can add it to your quarantine stream list. Side note, I’m happy to see Bokeem Woodbine getting these great roles the past year.
